Short Film: Procrastination.

Over the last week or so I have had the privilege to chat to quite a number of like minded individuals using twitter, about independent film making. One such conversation with a film maker, who goes by the name of @filmutopia, was about a concept he calls the Lone Gun Manifesto.

My own procrastination, and self doubt, has too long fueled a downward spiral, resulting in lack of ambition or creativity which has held me back during the years of running my previous business and was set to undermine my return to acting and writing.

So, it was the Lone Gun Manifesto that got me thinking. I don’t need fancy equipment (though, admittedly, my camcorder is crap and ain’t no DSLR). I don’t need dozens of assistants. In an actual fact, I didn’t even need any money (for the short film below, at least). One can get too precious about how one’s perceived and that can stifle creativity and keep you resisting taking the plunge and just making something.

With that in mind, yesterday afternoon, I decided to put myself straight and attempt to make a short film about Procrastination, by myself, and edit it and have it released before I went to bed. Over the space of 8 hours, with lots of parenting type duties and watching of TV (Doctor Who, Flashforward) in between, I created this short. I hope you liked it.

I have, so far, been delighted with the response to the film. It’s even made a little impact across the water. Please take a look at this review from Cinema Memoirs.
